The first details and a release date for Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 popped up on the product page of Xbox.com (via TrueAchievements). The game has been given a release date of 14 September 2017, along with numerous features and improvements for the footy title. An official Konami press release followed shortly after, confirming the game’s release date.
Some of the features include “strategic dribbling” and new setpieces quoted as having the ability to “take the unrivaled gameplay to the next level.” It’s also been reported that the games’ UI will receive an overhaul and “real player images.” From a visual aspect, the game will receive new lighting, redeveloped player models and facial animations.
“Control is everything in a football game, and PES 2018 retains the immediacy and total control the series is famed for alongside new refinements that hone its authenticity. Matches are played at a more realistic pace, while a new strategic dribbling system offers greater close control, including contextual shielding to protect the ball. Similarly, simple movements of the control stick can be used to initiate shimmies designed to wrong-foot defenders.”
There’s also a co-op mode included as derived from the reports, while the transfer system has received some attention to improve the feature overall. When you preorder you’ll receive bonuses to use in the game’s MyClub mode. The cover currently features the Barcelona team stars which might be a regional cover. More information on the game will probably be divulged soon by Konami.
As expected, PES 2018‘s rivals FIFA will return this year with FIFA 18, but details have not been confirmed for the title just yet. With both games seemingly set for release in the same month as per previous installments, we’re making an educated guess that it will be coming to all Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms again.
Here’s a little trailer for you to look at in the mean time.
