Ubisoft announces Atomega, an arena shooter that releases next week

Ubisoft just announced a new multiplayer shooter called Atomega, and it releases next week on September 19.

The online multiplayer arena shooter is all about gaining mass to become the biggest baddest kid on the block. Gain enough mass and you upgrade in size and power, changing form into a more deadly fighter. Every size will have a slightly different strategy and will want to probably avoid getting in the way of anything bigger. Fights are 10-minute affairs involving up to eight players. Having someone as an Atom and another as an Omega in the same match is going to be interesting to see, with the one being like 100x bigger than the other. Though if they drop mass when they die, or when they kill the other guys, it might be useful to dodge attacks and leech some mass.

Collecting mass adds to your score, which determines the winner of this drop-in, drop-out game from the same team that created Grow Home and Grow Up, Reflections. The game launches on Steam next week for $10.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
