The original outing for Sebastian saw a mixed reception from players. Perhaps some set their expectations too high, as it was a grand survival horror title that has been regarded as the spiritual successor to Resident Evil 4. It comes from the survival grand daddy of them all, Shinji Mikami, and if the below trailer is anything to go by the sequel is going to be one hell of an experience. Time is not going to be on your side.
Sebastian this time finds himself inside a nightmare called STEM, where his daughter has gone missing. It’s up to him to find her and save her from this nightmare before the entire system crumbles around him. Yes, you’ll be fighting off some hideous foes roaming the streets and corridors, but you have some other problems that’ll hinder your progress. Stefano and Theodore, twisted individuals who are at home inside STEM, is warping the world to their will. It’s once again going to be playing with Sebastian’s mind as he has to fight off the demons in his head. The tempo is upbeat to drive home the severity of situation he finds himself in, and just how rushed you’ll feel in the game to save Lily.
The Evil Within 2 launches on 13 October for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
