It’s a great feeling when gamers do good things. Too often we’re pointing fingers, shaming others and behaving badly, so when it’s time to do some good, I’ll find a way to support it. In a great marketing move, Bethesda has started a new charity to raise funds for the American Red Cross (among other charities) called “The Good Within.”
This is obviously a play on their upcoming title The Evil Within 2. The charity event is run on Crowdrise and the goal is to raise $15,000 or more. Bethesda has pledged to match the donation up to $15,000.
Tap into The Good Within and help us raise $15,000 for Red Cross disaster relief efforts and humanitarian needs around the world. Throughout the month of October, Bethesda wants to help maximize the impact of your contributions by matching the total fundraiser donation amount goal.
I really like this form of advertising as it does a lot of good for humanity and helps market the game. In a way, it reminds me of the Bloodborne blood drive a couple years back.
As for the game, it will be releasing this Friday, Friday the 13th. I will most certainly be diving into Stem again, the question is, will you?
