Raise your hands if you’ve ever had a bad neighbour? I’ve had plenty, so when I saw the new trailer for Hello Neighbor I got a little bit excited.
Dynamic Pixels has done a really good job of creating a stealth/horror based game without showing a drop of blood or gore. With a slightly maniacal antagonist and a slenderman inspired mannequin, Hello Neighbor may find its way into my heart and, possibly, my steam library.
The basic premise is that you, as the new neighbour, must break into a fellow neighbour’s house as he is keeping a terrible secret in his basement. Sure, breaking and entering is justifiable when you uncover horrible secrets, amirite? The clever part is that the game’s AI gets smarter if you get caught. He’ll lay traps in places you tried to enter before, which makes it even harder to get to the basement.
While the horror doesn’t follow the norm (darkness, rain, lots of black, etc) it does have kind of weird circus vibe, especially with the main antagonist. As for the release date, it’ll be out on 8 December via Steam. Be sure to take a look at the trailer below.
