.hack//G.U. Last Recode launch trailer tugs at your heart strings

It’s been quite a while since the .hack// series was relevant but it’s almost time to return to The World. The series is celebrating its 15th anniversary and I think there are definitely worse ways to go about it than a remaster collection of their PS2 era trilogy. The launch trailer for .hack//G.U. Last Recode shows off what to expect from the collection as well as a decent comparison to how much has changed from the PS2 games.

.hack//G.U. Last Recode is a collection of the G.U. trilogy as well as an all-new episode with a Terminal Disc. The Terminal Disc includes videos that help players get up to speed with what’s going on in the series as well as provide context for the G.U. game. While .hack//G.U. Last Recode is a pretty packed collection, it is missing something that would make it a must-have. Since .hack//G.U. is a continuation from the .hack//Roots anime, it would have been nice if the anime could have been included in the package. There are probably a ton of licensing issues and with it being a relatively old series it would need quite a bit of touching up to bring it up to standards. It’s a bit of a missed opportunity, but quite forgivable considering what this package includes.

.hack//G.U. Last Recode releases on the 3rd of November 2017 on PS4 and PC.
