Wait, where’s my wallet? Come back here you rapscallion, I’m not done with you yet! If you haven’t noticed, because you most likely live on the other side of the moon, it is Black Friday today. The once American exclusive cultural event of gross consumerism has made it entirely to our shores to the point where your local spaza shop is having deals on 5 Stars. If you had to go into town today, you have my sincere condolences and I hope you weren’t decked in the face for a TV or a very tantalising toaster oven. Hopefully you’re like me and spent the entire day bunkered in your room and refusing to step out of the door unless there is a meteor shower of PSN vouchers.
Anyway, stepping away from the capitalism for a second, we’ve still been doing work this week, even if we’re slightly (immensely) broke. For reviews this week, Garth found Darth Vader in a box in Star Wars Battlefront II, Zain had a Hidden Agenda, Daniel went sleuthing again in LA Noire, and Dawid blasted into the back of the net in FIFA World Cup 98. The Gamercast this week featured us mulling over the importance of graphics, Ash showed us five things that make us sigh in disappointment and the Burning Question this week asked if you multitask while gaming.
The finish line is in sight and my stock of car-based puns are running out as fast as the new Tesla Roadster goes 0-60. I’ll pump the brakes for now and just deliver onto you the winner of Gran Turismo Sport. It’s none other than:
Congratulations to Shiran for winning this fantastic prize! We’ll be in contact with you soon to get your prize to you as quick as we can. We’ll pump the nitrous just for you.
Thanks to Ster Kinekor for sponsoring this week’s prize!
We hope all of your packages arrive safely and that Christmas is going to be a killer time this year. We’re preparing to bring things down ourselves, but we’ll still be around for a while longer. The dreaded awards are coming up soon as well and we fully expect fisticuffs and honourable duels because have you seen how many amazing games released this year? We’re all very different gamers as well, so there will be a massive spread. But don’t you worry about that, just steel yourself to fight in the comment sections and tell us that we’re absolutely crazy to not pick Game X this year. We’re probably just going to pick Farming Simulator anyway and just be done with it.
Free Games Vrydag returns next week! Your honor will be tested and the ghosts of previous competitions will come to haunt you. The origins of this prize are fractured, but whoever gets it, will be a very happy gamer.
