There must be something in the drinking water of publishers around the world as it seems that this is the generation that dreams are coming true. First we had The Last Guardian becoming a reality, followed by Final Fantasy VII Remake and Shenmue 3 being announced. It’s time for supporters of the iconic Capcom action platformer to lose their minds as Mega Man is returning in 2018.
This fantastic news comes via a Mega Man 30th Anniversary Celebration stream that Capcom hosted last night. In the stream you relive the history of the Mega Man series by seeing the iconic blue bomber running through his own timeline of games. As he nears the end he bumps into 2018 and performs his trademark ‘disappearing launching act’. It’s Mega Man 11 with a fresh coat of paint. Get a look at his return below and try your best to contain your excitement:
Don’t expect the news to end there. Both Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 will be heading to the Nintendo Switch in Summer (our Winter) 2018. These two collections include Mega Man 1–6 and Mega Man 7–10 respectively. Then they dropped another bomb. The Megaman X titles are heading to all formats next year too. Yes, 2018 is the year for Mega Man fans around the world:

We have no exact release dates for any of the above announcements, but one thing is for sure – it’ll launch in 2018. With Monster Hunter World, a rumoured Devil May Cry 5 and the confirmed entire Mega Man collection heading to all consoles next year it seems Capcom are back to take names and we couldn’t be any happier.
