So if you were expecting a Portal sequel, a game with more portal hijinks and physics and GLaDOS, well you get your wish fulfilled, but in the way that a crafty gamemaster would have a genie answer a wish spell in a roleplaying game. You asked for a new Portal game, right? Physics? Check. GLaDOS? Check. Puzzles and portals. Check. Oh but it isn’t Portal 3, no that would break Valve to make something with a 3 in it. Meet Bridge Constructor Portal.
Bridge Constructor Portal is being developed by Headup Games and Clockstone Software and will be the first full-fledged PC game from Valve since Dota 2. This makes it big news in a world where Valve doesn’t make games anymore. It makes virtual hat selling machines and dabbles in VR. Or it makes a Dota-themed digital card game, which apparently nobody asked for.
Bridge Constructor Portal hits PC on December 20 with the console version in early 2018. The mobile version’s release date is currently unannounced. If you are a fan of physics-based puzzles, this might be the closest we ever get to a new Portal game.
