Path of Exile is one of those games that has the correct idea when it comes to free-to-play. The game and all game-content is completely free, with players able to buy extra stash space or shiny cosmetics to look as good as possible while going on a killing spree, killing all the gods.
The latest expansion War for the Atlas adds extra post-story content for players who have murdered their way through the game’s various acts, giving them gods from parallel dimensions to murder. Because deicide is only fun while there is a fresh supply of gods.
For players that haven’t reached the end game, or are looking to start a new character, the new league has some pretty interesting monsters to tackle while you make your way through the game. The world is infested with new undead monsters that emerge from cracks in the ground. Follow these cracks you might find a mini-boss, or a chest full of loot or stairs down to face a mighty lich.
Even just playing outside of league will have players meeting The Elder, a new boss that infests part of the Atlas with tentacled monsters, better loot and several problems. He can even kill off the boss of the area, using their soul to create a new boss encounter. Get ready to be busy.
