New patch brings 4K and HDR support to The Witcher 3 on the Xbox One X

It’s as if the developers at CD Projekt Red knew that South African gamers were going to get their Xbox One X consoles this week. In time for the local South African launch (that’s tomorrow for those who aren’t aware) the team at CD Projekt Red has released a new patch for the Witcher 3 especially for Xbox One X users.

If you don’t own a 4K telly with HDR support it’s not going to mean all that much to you, but for the those who do own the hardware it’s a big deal. You have the option of running the game at 30fps in 4K resolution, or at a dynamic resolution (where it varies from 1080p up to 4K) while targeting 60fps. The choice comes down to you as an individual at the end. Do you want the game to look exceptionally good in 4K with a lower frame rate, or do you prefer an improved frame rate with lower resolution? Either way, the decision now lies with you and the patch is live right this very minute.

Married to a gamer and she kicks my ass at most shooters. If the game is enjoyable I’ll play it, no matter the format.
