If you’re a child from the late 80s and early 90s you’re going to want to pull out your copy of Injustice 2 one more time to get in on the action with what is probably the coolest DLC for the game yet. As has become the natural progression system for a Netherrealm Studio fighting game you’ll be able to fight as unique characters based outside of the DC universe. In this case, it’s your favourite Heroes in a Half Shell that make an appearance.
Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello are all playable and come with their own unique move sets, but to select the different Turtle variants comes down to your gear selection:
By equipping one of four accessories – swords, bo staff, nunchakus or sais – players will be able to change their character loadout to play as Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo. Each will wield their own unique move sets, character powers and special moves. In online and tournament modes where specific loadouts are unavailable, players will be able to select each individual Turtle from the character select screen.
Ed Boon tweeted an example of how the character selection process will function:
How will you be able to select which Ninja Turtle you wanna use? Like this… pic.twitter.com/xWI4Y8k7P9

Just how did they get stuck in the DC universe? Here’s the apparent explanation, “While in a fight with the fearsome Krang—our heroes in a half-shell were jettisoned on a one-way trip across the Multiverse.”
They jump out of a sewer on 13 February and if you own Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition it’ll be a free download to you.
