This one is probably not going to go down well. BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle has generated a lot of controversy for itself thanks to its DLC plan and while it’s mostly due to misinformation, it’s still not a pretty picture. It is a bit of a mess but hopefully, Arc System Works has a crisis aversion plan for the game given the negative image it has.
Other than the free Blake and Yang, the following characters have now been confirmed as DLC:
- Platinum the Trinity of BlazBlue
- Orie Ballardiae of Under Night In-Birth
- Kanji Tatsumi of Persona 4 Arena
I can’t say that I’m all that happy that I have to wait sometime after launch to have access to my favourite Under Night In-Birth character but at least she’s in the game. For those of you not in the know, BlazBlue Cross Tag battle will release at a lower price but will have a season pass that brings with it a number of post-launch characters. While it’s an interesting way to sell a game, it was marketed incredibly poorly when it was announced and now the game has this negative image looming over it. This DLC plan and departure from traditional BlazBlue gameplay has left fans less than pleased, but I still have hope for the game. While it’s never going to be a big name competitive fighter, the game looks like it could have some decent casual play potential. It may not be the game you dedicate your life to, but it could at least be a fun way to kill some time.
