Comic Con Africa officially heading to SA in September – Nolan North and Troy Baker on panels

We’ve all had a dream to one day attend a big show. Whether it’s E3, Gamescom or one of the Comic Con shows – it’s just something that’s been out of the grasp for most. It’s expensive for South African’s to get to these big events. So, how about the news that the big event is heading to our shores instead?

It’s exactly what’s happening as Comic Con Africa will take place in Johannesburg in partnership with VS Gaming, 14-16 September 2018 at the Kyalami International Convention Centre. What does this all mean? Well, it means that the name alone will bring in enough international support that the panels won’t just be made up of local talent, but it’ll have international panels taking place too. Who you ask? Well, so far we know that Nolan North (Nathan Drake – Uncharted) and Troy Baker (Joel – The Last of Us) will be joining the panels. Yes, that’s pretty damn big for the first panel. They will be joined with some cast of the Game of Thrones and The Big Bang Theory series. There will also be a big eSports angle where the masters will be hosted along with a big PC LAN.

It’ll also feature gaming along with limited edition merchandise that can be bought at the show. Yes, it’ll feature comic artists, cosplay and the opportunity for autograph signings. Expect this to be one massive show in September, which happens to launch just a few weeks ahead of rAge. Something tells us it’s going to be an interesting year for gamers. We’ll update you as soon as we know more.

Married to a gamer and she kicks my ass at most shooters. If the game is enjoyable I'll play it, no matter the format.
