Remember that mobile hit that rocked the world just under two years ago? Well it’s still going and although it may not be as strong as it once was, you can say that it still does retain some of its strength with the games dedicated and sometimes casual player base. Niantic, the creators of Pokémon GO, have released multiple upgrades and updates to the game since its release including world wide events catered specifically for fans enjoyment. And now it seems that we’ll be receiving another interesting update as well as the mythical and long awaited legendary Pokémon Mew.
Later this week Niantic intends on releasing a new set of features to the game that’ll have players completing research to help Professor Willow to discover a connection to the legendary Mew. The research which is titled Field Research and Special Research will have trainers/players visiting PokéStops to collect objects that’ll help you discover or capture specific Pokémon. It will also task players to battle and engage with certain Pokémon among other objectives. This is of course Field Research. Special Research will have players accept special missions from the Professor himself although it’s not mentioned as to what exactly this will be. It is however mentioned that both research tasks will have different levels of difficulty which if completed will yield more rewards the more challenging the task. An important thing to note is that Niantic has also mentioned that completing at least one Field Research task a day will earn players a stamp. When seven stamps are acquired the player will achieve a Research Breakthrough to receive more rewards or “even have an encounter with a Legendary Pokémon!”
