Microsoft reveals 19 original Xbox and several 360 enhanced games for Xbox One

Considering that the Xbox One is the only backwards compatible console in this generation it must be said that Microsoft has taken full advantage of their service by uploading older classics to their library. Retro nuts like me don’t know where to get started as the list keeps growing on a monthly basis. Inside Xbox last night detailed more games that will be heading to the service.

The original Xbox games will not only be available on the service by the specified dates, but it’ll receive quite an upgrade from the original game. According to Microsoft players will witness four times the pixel count. Also, like with Xbox 360 games, if you held onto your original Xbox games you can just insert the disc and it’ll automatically start the download for the game:

Your 17 April original Xbox games:

  • Blinx: The Time Sweeper
  • Breakdown
  • Conker: Live & Reloaded
  • The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
  • Hunter: The Reckoning
  • Jade Empire
  • Panzer Dragoon Orta
  • SSX 3

26 April will see the below titles added to the service:

  • Destroy All Humans!
  • Full Spectrum Warrior
  • Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
  • MX Unleashed
  • Panzer Elite Action: Fields of Glory
  • Star Wars Battlefront
  • Star Wars Battlefront II
  • Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
  • Star Wars Jedi Starfighter
  • Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II
  • Star Wars Republic Commando

That’s not where they stopped with announcements. There are new Xbox 360 titles that have been added to the store and each of the listed games have received enhanced treatment, which means it’s going to look much better on your 4K telly if you own one with much-improved textures:

  • Red Dead Redemption
  • Gears of War 2
  • Sonic Generations
  • Portal 2
  • Darksiders
  • Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Along with the improved visuals, players who are keen to return to for another Gears of War 2 session will find that all the DLC is now free. For those keen to see just how well the enhancements run on the Xbox One X, take a look at the video below:

Married to a gamer and she kicks my ass at most shooters. If the game is enjoyable I'll play it, no matter the format.
