The Burning Question: Which is better, SeeD or SOLDIER?

Sometimes you need an elite warrior to get the job done. In Final Fantasy VII and VIII, that role was fulfilled by two similar but wildly different programmes. On one hand, we have SOLDIER, people who undergo treatments and training to reach superhuman strength, speed and agility, Mako energy and Jenova cells are used to give them these abilities, and this also gives them the telltale glow in their eyes. On the other hand, we have SeeD, which is a mercenary force that often takes an undercover role, providing military support, hunting monsters and they have social training too.

Both have some extremely powerful examples in the upper echelons of their ranks. Some of the strongest SOLDIERS (well I guess ex-SOLDIER), like Sephiroth, have fan clubs created by Shinra as a propaganda tool. Once you are a SOLDIER though you are in it for life or are monitored for life because you count as a company secret. SeeD operatives junction with Guardian Forces to become stronger than rank and file soldiers and can summon these amazing primal forces in battle. Those diplomatic skills also come in handy as SeeD knows that handling politics and diplomacy is also a battlefield where victories are just as brutal and satisfying, with lasting repercussions.

Which fighting force is better, SeeD or SOLDIER? I also don’t just mean do you prefer FF7 or FF8, I mean which would win in a fight one on one, or as two battle units clashing in a war zone, and which you would prefer to join?

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
