Onimusha trademark pops up in Canada, Australia, New Zealand and more countries

Are we about to receive the most amazing news or are they going to slice us into pieces and reap our souls? One thing is for sure, Capcom are up to something. It’s been a very long time since last we saw anything Onimusha-related showing up on console or PC. Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams was theoretically the last game to appear on any format, though in our minds it’s really still the impressive Onimusha 3 that lingers in our memories. The folks over at Resetera discovered trademarks for a possible Onimusha revival.

Head here, type in ‘Onimusha’ in the ‘text’ field and search. You’ll find that there are eight results in total with a 2018 date attached to it. Some are active and some are pending, but the bit of information that really matters is the fact that it’s a trademark that has been filed for video games (physical and digital), smartphone games, as well as related merchandise. We’re praying to the gaming Gods that this isn’t only some form of spin-off mobile game, but something with more substance as we’ve come to expect over the years.

Two years ago we reported that the game was being discussed at the Capcom HQ, so perhaps this is the start of good things to come. We would do anything to reprise the role of Samanosuke. It’s time to believe.

Married to a gamer and she kicks my ass at most shooters. If the game is enjoyable I'll play it, no matter the format.
