The day is finally here! It’s God of War launch day and the excitement among PS4 owners is palpable. It is an excellent game and I am sure all of you are in for a real treat.
To celebrate the launch, Cory Barlog, the director of God of War decided to share his emotional reaction when he first saw the Metacritic scores for the game. He recorded himself on a webcam as he started looking at the scores when embargo lifted last week. In the video he initially stalls a bit nervously, but breaks down into tears of joy and relieve as he witnesses the score of 94 on the aggregate site:
Happy GOW launch day!! OK, so here is the reaction video I talked about. debated on whether or not to upload but thought I would be a good papa and show my son its OK to cry. ❤️🍻 spoilers – it is a bit sad.https://t.co/4sBi44FYq5

We can sometimes be very critical about the games we play, but seeing someone being so emotional after pouring five years of his life into making something is really heartwarming. Barlog has been part of the God of War series from the beginning, so to say it has been part of his entire life is a bit of an understatement. Congratulations to Cory Barlog and the team over at Santa Monica Studios for making a fantastic game!
