If you love the smell of napalm in the morning then a bit of vehicle combat should be right up your alley. Games such as Twisted Metal and Carmageddon have become a rare breed in this day and age. Unless you plan to play a bit of Mario Kart or Wipeout Omega Collection you aren’t going to get that gaming nirvana you’re after. Later this month that all changes.
Vroom Kaboom isn’t only a vehicle combat title, but it’s also its own weird tower defence game with a built-in card game structure. The focus is its multiplayer component and you’re tasked with blasting competitors and their structures to bits by summoning vehicles from your card game deck. The concept is to support a faction with unique vehicle classes. Each vehicle (including one airborne craft so far) comes with its own unique handling, health, speed and mass stats. Sledgehammer is used to ram opponents, Skeyes is there to shoot and Rhino has a unique jump ability.
Events will have a 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3 setup and it’ll support VR for both Oculus Rift on PC and PSVR on PS4. It launches on 29 May, so be sure to give it a go later this month.
