Bioware’s Anthem gets a new 20 minute gameplay video

E3 2018 gave us many many new trailers and gameplay videos for a plethora of games, but the one that won Best Action Game of the show was also one of the most anticipated titles of the expo. Now we get a look at a detailed 20-minute walkthrough of the game, Anthem.

BioWare’s Ben Irving serves as narrator pointing out details and highlights on certain mechanics, what to expect when you enter the world of Anthem, and how raids will function in the game. The gameplay video takes us on a Stronghold mission, a four-player co-op experience investigating an acid leak and taking out an enemy base in the process. Irving mentions that these raids can be launched at any time when they uncover a stronghold allowing any player at any level to participate and be able to level up. Some specific capabilities and strengths for each Javelin get highlighted during the playthrough.

Loot is a very important part of Anthem as Irving explains, stating that it allows you to build classes for specific missions which require multiple abilities and specialist Javelins who have levelled up their ultimate attacks. In the video, we get to see the Javelins take on a Swarm Tyrant, a hulking spider-like creature with its minions, which demonstrates how teamwork and specialisation play a big roll in taking down massive enemies such as this.

If you like what you see then be sure to keep Anthem on your radar as it’s scheduled for release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on 22 February 2019.
