Darksiders III has faded into the background a little bit since THQ Nordic announced it a while ago. Many of us thought the franchise was dead after the release of Darksiders II due to the developer and publisher going the way of the dodo, but heroes never die or something like that. Darksiders III will feature Fury, another one of the horsemen of the apocalypse, but it will actually be a horsewoman. We got some gameplay videos showing that the traditional Darksiders combat is still going to happen with some modern twists and something befitting a current-generation Darksiders game.
We don’t know when the game will be released, but according to the Microsoft store, it might be on the 26th of November 2018. Here’s a screengrab from the page:
It’s a bit small to read, but the supposed release date is there. Now, this may just be a placeholder for the actual release date, but such a timeframe does make sense. The game will be talked about more at Gamescom 2018 and it wouldn’t be a stretch to think they will announce a release date there. If it’s coming out this year, all the better. I’m pretty excited to jump back into the Darksiders universe with all of its eccentricities and gigantic weapons. The franchise has only received a couple of ridiculously spelt remasters so far during this generation and it will be interesting to see what they have in store for us.
