Capcom will ‘explore’ more remakes for some of their classic games

Capcom is no stranger to releasing remakes. The first remake that made waves back in 2002 was on the GameCube, with the launch of Resident Evil remake. It’s that very game that got remastered for the last and current generation that we all have come to love and enjoy. Thanks to the success of that and the overwhelming response to Resident Evil 2 remake, Capcom now have plans to look at more of their properties and to give it a good facelift.

In their investor conference they were asked whether they are planning more remakes, whereby they replied with this:

Further, regarding remakes and rereleases of titles in our back catalog, we expect to explore these further with a variety of properties as a part of our strategy to utilise our library of IPs.

Let us just once again remind you all that there is a huge difference between remakes and remasters, that’s why Resident Evil is receiving so much love. A remake takes a long time to be worked on, as the team needs to basically make a brand new game (as with Final Fantasy VII¬†remake). So, what games could they be digging up? Who knows? All we know is that the one we want is in the header image…

Married to a gamer and she kicks my ass at most shooters. If the game is enjoyable I'll play it, no matter the format.
