I’ve always had a bit of a problem with DLC. When content gets cut from a game to create additional DLC it really gets my blood boiling, but Assassin’s Creed Origins was a game that actually got it right. Without paying an additional cent you would get at least 100 hours out of the game if you tried to do all that was there. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will be following that same blueprint and will come with a packed standard game and much more content after launch.
Those who plan to get the season pass will receive two story arcs that are made up of three episodes each, named Legacy of the First Blade and The Fate of Atlantis. These two new storylines will dive deeper into Assassin’s Creed lore and Greek mythology – something just about everyone has been asking for. Legacy of the First Blade episodes are planned to be released in December (roughly six weeks apart from each other) and The Fate of Atlantis will release in autumn 2019. There is a small bonus for season pass owners – you’ll get Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered thrown into the package at no additional cost.
More of a ‘free content’ person? Well, there is something in it for you too. The Lost Tales of Greece will launch frequently in-between season pass episodes, starting in December. These quests will send players on adventures where a currency can be earned to buy rare and exotic gear you would otherwise not be able to buy in the game. There is more content on its way, along with a New Game Plus mode, so expect to put many, many hours into this next big Assassin’s Creed quest.
