Red Dead Redemption 2 is now so close that we can just about catch the scent of a western game launch in the air. Rockstar has paced their announcements perfectly in the lead up to launch. The recent trailer showing off more gameplay really had the hype train arriving in full force and now they’ve released more information on the weapons in the game and apparently the story will last you around 65 hours.
In an interview with Vulture, they confirmed that the story is going to last you a very long time. Quite easily one of the longest Rockstar experiences, if that is to be believed.
The acting for Red Dead Redemption 2’s story mode is now complete, but as release day approaches, five hours of the 65-hour game are dumped.
The last gameplay trailer showed off the dead-eye system that will be returning to the game, but what use is it when you don’t have a decent number of guns? No need to worry, Rockstar confirmed on their official site that you’ll have over 50 unique guns to sling lead. These guns are made up of revolvers, pistols, shotguns and rifles of that era. Each gun will also come with its own ammunition type which can change up the damage, range and accuracy depending on what you’re using. As with all guns, they won’t last forever if you don’t look after them. Players will have to get accustomed to cleaning and oiling their guns, otherwise they will degrade over time and became useless.
Customisation is also going to play a huge part. Visually you’ll be able to add new metals, woods, varnishes and engravings to your guns, but in terms of performance, players will be able to improve their guns with new barrels, grips, sights and scopes.
