Red Dead Redemption 2 installation file size confirmed

Back in September Marko brought you the news that the Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PS4 Pro would likely require 105 GB of space. This was based on some info found within a Target listing for the game. However, Rockstar Games’ support website posted some information yesterday that sheds even more light on just how big this game is going to be. According to the post, Red Dead Redemption 2‘s installation requirements are as follows:

Disc Installation:

PS4 – 99 GB installation space
Xbox One – 107 GB installation space

Digital Installation:

PS4 – 99 GB installation space with an additional 50GB for the installation process
Xbox One – 107 GB installation space

This means that at least during the installation process (if you are a PS4 user) you’ll need to free up 149 GB if you are planning on going digital. The numbers that out there for this game are mind-boggling: From the controversial 100-hour crunch work weeks to the promised over 65-hour main story, to these ridiculously large installation sizes – one thing is for sure, RDR2 is going to be BIG. Thankfully, a Rockstar Tweet did reveal that you will be able to pre-load the game from 6 am today if you’ve pre-ordered the game.

So you better get to it…
