Shadow of the Tomb Raider launched a little over a month ago, so it came as a bit of a surprise to see it going on sale on Steam so quickly last week. This might be great for those who waited a little bit, but people who bought the game at launch are a little upset about this, saying it was unfair to those who supported the game and bought it at full price.
The one way that early adopters have been showing their disapproval was by bombing the game with negative user reviews, mostly mentioning the price, and nothing really about the game. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is currently marked down by 34% for the standard edition and 47% for the Croft Edition on Steam.
While being upset over a discount is understandable since the discounts are quite high and very early, but the negative review bombing of a game over said discounts does once again rear the head of gamer entitlement. If you bought a game new you didn’t care for a lower price in the first place, so being upset about it going on discount is just being a crybaby. Sure, people that bought the game just before the price drop would have reason to be upset, but that has happened to all of us. You win some and you lose some.
