I can’t help but immediately associate Team 17 to the Worms series and while that’s not the only game they’ve ever published, it’s one of the more famous ones. Their new game, however, is quite the step away from Worms. The realistic style and intensely massive combat area sure makes it look like a potential winner.
Unfortunately, Hell Let Loose will be an online multiplayer game (like we don’t have enough of those going around), which will feature 50 vs 50 gameplay on 1:1 scaled maps. For those of us who would love this game as just a single-player experience, it seems like there will be no such luck. Which is sad, because I can’t remember the last time I played a really good War-Time FPS worth mentioning. Maybe Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Highway?
Anyway, Hell Let Loose will not only require you to be an excellent combatant team, but games will be won by securing a sector and its resources. It will also add a “historically accurate arsenal with realistic weapon behavior”, which I can only assume means jamming, misfires and maybe squib loads.
As this will be Black Matter‘s debut game, there’s a lot of pressure on them to deliver a stunning addition to the multiplayer genre that will be able to stand-out among the rest. They already have the funding, as their Kickstarter campaign managed to rake in AU$ 308,368 from 5,284 backers. It’s definitely not a small feat or amount, but it seems like they’re putting that money to good use.
It’s being developed for the PC in Unreal Engine 4, and will be available for early access sometime next year!
