During MechCon 2018 a new trailer for the upcoming MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries was shown, revelling in the massive size of the mechs and the joys of running these big metal monsters around, bashing through buildings and blasting arms off of other mechs.
The single-player campaign will see you taking on contracts in the Third and Fourth Succession Wars, where players will have to manage resources, effect repairs and upgrade mechs as the need arises. The game also features four-player co-op if you want to create that feeling of being a small unit of crack pilots.
MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is still a long way off, with a planned release date of September 10, 2019. Hopefully before then, we will see a cockpit view rather than the third-person chase camera used in the trailer. I want to feel the shudder from inside those big heaps of metal.
