Thanks to a pair of furry, orange dice that have been delivered to certain gaming industry figures (including PlayStation Access Channel Manager, Hollie Bennet (Twitter image below), and at the IGN offices), it seems highly likely that Crash Team Racing is making a comeback.
So….uh….these just arrived at my house.
Any ideas? 😂🤔 pic.twitter.com/x0MRYihWvg— Hollie Bennett (@HollieB) December 4, 2018
With the attached note stating that: “It will be sliding into the Game Awards on 06/12” could it be that like the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy and the Spyro Reignited Trilogy before it, the Naughty Dog developed kart racer could be the next in line to receive the modernising treatment? Well, the internet seems to think so. We will have to wait for the Game Awards in two days time for official confirmation, but the general online buzz seems to indicate this one may actually be true.
Personally, I could not be more excited about this rumour with the original CTR game ranking up there as one of my favourite games of all time. It has unfortunately not aged that well, but a possible visual and gameplay upgrade may mean that the Mario Kart series may finally have a proper rival again.
Look out Mario, Crash is coming and I just can’t wait.
