Below was a game that was announced back in 2013 during Microsoft’s E3 conference. Since then it has been in development limbo and become sort of legendary as one of those indie games that would never be. It was a shame since the game looked absolutely gorgeous and the promised features were enough to get excited about. A hard-as-nails rogue-like survival game with some very definite Dark Souls vibes. We have been waiting in perpetuity since that initial announcement, but fear not. It’s coming next week.
Yup, quite the sudden release for something that was trapped in uncertainty, but Below will be releasing on the 14th of December on Xbox One and PC. Here’s the confirmation from Nathan Vella, CEO of Capy Games.
It’s finally time. So excited (and a little nervous) to announce that BELOW launches on Xbox One & Steam on December 14th. Check out this new trailer, and wishlist on steam here: https://t.co/Kjc7FM2UtO pic.twitter.com/2Y1O0kmPmv

There you go, straight from the horse’s mouth. It’s awesome to finally see closure for this game regardless of what the outcome will be in regards to quality. I’m hoping that it’s a game that was worth the wait, but games like this usually have a curse tied to them. It can easily break that curse and thankfully we don’t have to wait that long to find out.
