Close to the Sun will get your waxy veins flowing in its new announcement trailer

If you’re a fan of games like BioShock, then Close to the Sun is right up your dimly-lit, creepy-looking alleyway. Even though it’s development can be traced all the way back to last year, and it made an appearance at Gamescom this year, it is only now receiving a rather intriguing announcement trailer.

Some have come to call Close to the Sun  a “BioShock game without the combat”, which, I believe, will just make the whole thing more intense. There’s no fighting back, only your mental agility and ability to hide well stands between you and whatever is on that ship. While it doesn’t look like the people in this game are suffering from ADAM-addiction, there is a general sense that something about Nikola Tesla’s little venture didn’t go as planned.

Close to the Sun is a horror game that takes place at the end of 19th century on a mysterious ship complex created by Nikola Tesla for the sake of knowledge. In this alternative version of history, his scientific breakthroughs have already had a major impact on the world. You’re Rose, a young journalist looking for your sister and, as you approach this enormous and glorious complex for the first time, you quickly realize that something there has gone wrong

Though there isn’t a solid release date as of yet, we can expect it out in 2019, to PC and consoles. But again, just because this game is very reminiscent of another doesn’t mean it won’t work in its favour. Storm in a Teacup, the developers behind the game, have already received an Unreal Dev Grant from Epic Games (along with so many other amazing games) so I’m sure this will end up, if anything, an interesting experience.

I obviously don't know anything about games. I'm just here for the free food, and to push my feminist agenda.
