Futuristic ‘Xenon Racer’ arriving 26 March on all platforms

Straight out of Rotterdam, Holland, comes a new futuristic racer from Dutch developer Soedesco. It is clearly trying to channel Wipeout or F-Zero‘s velocity-obsessed charm. However, what can we expect from the upcoming speedster? According to the official Xenon Racer website:

It’s the year 2030. In an era of flying vehicles, a one-off championship for traditional wheel based vehicles has been organised, with cutting edge electric cars boosted by Xenon gas. Drift through cities like Tokyo and Dubai at breakneck speeds and claim your eternal victory!

The launch video really shows us around. Firstly, there are references to tracks in China, UAE, Canada, France, USA and Japan. In addition, it features expandable & customisable cars plus a quick peek at several gameplay modes. These include Checkpoint Attack, online multiplayer and local split-screen. The visuals look quite good (if perhaps a little limited), and it is a genre that can always use more love (especially on the Switch). But my one tiny concern is that some sections of the video make the controls seem a little clunky and moving a large road-yacht around tight corners comes to mind.

Check out the video below and let us know what you think. The game will launch on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on the 26th of March 2019.
