Head Cyberpunk 2077 writer leaves to join Blizzard

Sebastian Stępień, creative director and head writer for Cyberpunk 2077 as well as creative director of The Witcher 3, has left CD Projekt Red to work at Blizzard.

An update to his LinkedIn profile showed the change, with him moving into a creative director role at Blizzard’s California office.

The Witcher 3 had three creative directors, with Stępień working along Konrad Tomaskiewicz and Mateusz Kanik. Stępień’s LinkedIn page says he started at CD Projekt Red in 2006.

This possibly means that his work on Cyberpunk 2077 is complete, with the narrative and big story moments all complete. Blizzard has a large selection of job openings for unannounced titles, so perhaps one of those projects will have Stępień pulling the strings. Who knows, maybe we will see his name, or see him on stage at Blizzcon discussing the lore of Diablo 4. How great would that be?

Now to wait for more announcements, one from Blizzard about the project, and one from CDPR about how much longer we have to wait until we can get our implants and shades.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
