Other than the upcoming release of Anthem the EA release schedule is a bit of a mystery in 2019. Apex Legends shadow dropped out of nowhere and has become quite a big deal for many online gamers in a matter of hours, but a look ahead at the rest of the year and we have little to no clue what to expect. The third quarter fiscal report seems to have most the answers we’re looking for.
Other than all the boring financial jargon, the COO and CFO, Blake Jorgensen, stated the following in the report:
FIFA stands out as a robust franchise through a tumultuous year in the video game industry. Elsewhere in the business, we’re making adjustments to improve execution and we’re refocusing R&D. Looking forward, we’re delighted to launch Anthem, our new IP, to grow Apex Legends and related Titanfall experiences, to deliver new Plants vs. Zombies and Need for Speed titles, and to add Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order to our sports titles in the fall.
We guess we’ll hear more about all these various games at E3. It is however also awesome to hear that Titanfall is still receiving some love. With Respawn Entertainment behind the development of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, our hopes are a little higher than normally. Please EA, don’t ‘EA’ this.
