Artyom’s Nightmare leaves some food for thought in Metro Exodus

Those who played the Metro series will be aware that it’s perhaps one of the most under-valued first-person shooters in our industry. Each game comes with a deep narrative, thanks to each game being based on a novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky. Metro Exodus is not about to put an end to the artful storytelling.

Metro Exodus takes place two years after events you played in Metro Last Light where players will once again take control of Artyom to help him and his wife, Anna, search for a better future. Artyom often dreams of a life outside of the Moscow Metro and this is what this CG short is based on. It gives you insight into the dreams and hopes that Artyom has, but as is mostly the case with Metro games, there is a gloomy outcome to events.

Metro Exodus launches on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on 15 February.

Married to a gamer and she kicks my ass at most shooters. If the game is enjoyable I'll play it, no matter the format.
