The Monster Hunter series has always been an obscure one. But since the release of Monster Hunter: World, Capcom has shown that with a little out of the box thinking, a series that has always had a high barrier for entry, can be broken down.
Video game movie adaptions have over and over again proven that they just aren’t good. This is something that none of us have to reiterate. Perhaps, we, as gamers expect too much from these ‘blockbuster’ counterparts. Or perhaps the directors just don’t have the right feel of the series or what fans want. I could speculate for hours as to what the problem may be, but I’d rather not. What I can do however is tell you the plot line of the Monster Hunter movie that’s set to release next year, on the 4th of September.
According to Deadline.com, Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) will find herself, as well as her team, transported to another world. A world that exists alongside our own, one that possesses dangerous and powerful monsters. And in their desperation to survive, they have to team up with a stranger who has in fact discovered a way to fight against these beasts, and stop them from entering a portal that leads back to Earth.
I’ll admit that after reading the above plot line, I did feel a little despair. However, at the same time I’d like to reserve any doubts until more information is provided as well as the release of a trailer. What are your thoughts?
