I believe most of us were on board with Activision’s decision to remake an entire beloved franchise. It was a move that many of us didn’t see coming and it was especially surprising to see the once Playstation exclusive franchise appear on all the major platforms. Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy just surpassed everyone’s expectations and went on to become a wild success.
During Activision’s recent earnings call, they made it known that the trilogy just surpassed 10 million units sold, which is a huge number of units if you compare it to other offerings of this nature. The game spent weeks and weeks on sales charts and for whatever reason, people just kept buying the game. It seems people were really hankering for a good platforming experience from their childhood or all those Woah memes did some fantastic marketing.
This is all cause for celebration, but I’m interested to see what they do next following this success. It’s unlikely we’ll get a new Crash Bandicoot game, but I won’t be surprised if Activision digs up some of its other old franchises and gives them a good coat of paint. We already got the Spyro Reignited Trilogy which was of the same ilk, but I’m thinking they may have some more properties up their sleeve for the future.
