Hello all you beautiful people! This week was rough one. It’s trying times out there in the world right now and I also had a personal tragedy befall me. But we’re going to keep things normal in the FGV wrap up post. This is our time to enjoy our hobby and come together to hope that we won some free stuff. A splash of normalcy in a world filled with terrible irregularities. So, what happened in gaming this week?
Weekly wrap up!
This week was a crazy one in terms of news. One of the most popular posts this week is about the The Division 2 being removed from digital PC storefronts after it launched which happened today as well. It was pretty crazy and other stores were not really happy about the whole ordeal.
We also got word that Comic Con will be heading to the Mother City next year which was a nice surprise because Cape Town always gets left out of the party when it comes to major events because Joburg is often the better locale. It will be awesome to see how the event performs over there in the windy city.
For reviews, we got the fantastic Devil May Cry 5 that completely surpassed all expectations. We also had Dawid reviewing Wipeout 2097, but I think he did it less for the review and more to just play more Wipeout. He also did a fantastic piece about the 11 best introduction levels in gaming.
Comment of the week!
The comment of the week comes to us from our old friend DemonGamer in the Burning Question that asked if trophies affected your replayability of games. I was bummed to miss out on the conversation because I’m a trophy man myself, but DemonGamer basically said what I was going to say:
100% agreed. I have so many games that trophy hunting doesn’t count for just one game anymore and replaying something from scratch is too much of a time investment these days. I only really replay stuff if it has a point to do it again or if I really loved it.
We had some fierce competition this week and rightfully so because it was such an awesome prize. We got a copy of
Congratulations to Chantelle for winning this week’s prize! We’ll be in contact with you soon to get your prize to you. Take good care of your people!
Thanks to Megarom Interactive for sponsoring this week’s prize!
Also, there was a little challenge attached this week. You had to find a frequency for a radio station in a video. If you were curious, here’s the answer:
What’s happening this weekend?
If you’re ever wondering what the SA Gamer crew does on weekends, don’t wonder anymore! Here’s a little breakdown of how we’ll be spending our weekends:
Dawid: F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! F1! …and a game that might not leave me left alive. [I think he’s playing F1. That, or he’s asking for help on his keyboard and didn’t realise it’s a button, not something you type. He’s playing Left Alive so it’s definitely possible.]
Garth: This weekend is all about saving people in Washington D.C. and getting as much loot as possible in
Charlie: I’m moving in the next couple of weeks, so I need to start packing things up this weekend. Other than that I plan on continuing my NG+ playthrough of Horizon Zero Dawn. Also, yadda yadda yadda rugby,
Ash: It’s been a rough week, dealing with the many emotions that came through
Tim: I’ve got a friend’s wedding this weekend and of course there’s football too. But on the gaming front – I finished and enjoyed The Way last week, and am enjoying Starlink so far. I also have a review game so will definitely be putting a lot of time into that. [My second favourite Tim (first one is Tim “The Toolman” Taylor) is doing what he does best and this makes me happy.]
Marko: So the personal tragedy that has befallen me was that I was robbed this week Tuesday. You can find the whole story on my Twitter, but it was quite the ordeal and I’m still recovering from it. Unfortunately, no gaming will happen this weekend because of the sheer amount of work and fixes I need to do, but I’ll still try my best. If I don’t play games, they win, you see.
And with that, another bow is placed on another week. Like I said at the start, the world is a scary place right now, but what more can we do than pick up the pieces, become better people and be there for others. Go out there this weekend and make this world a better place. We believe in you. Thankfully we always have gaming to cheer us up.
Free Games Vrydag returns next week! Oh the heavens will cry.
