Myst developer is Kickstarting steampunk Firmament

Cyan Worlds, the developer of point-and-click adventures such as Myst, has revealed more about Firmament, their latest head-scratcher in development.

In Firmament things get steampunk and you are accompanied by a small construct that can help you through the various areas. However you can’t just click on something to tell the bot what to do, you need to use hand gestures to get your point across. In VR this means you will point, wave, waggle and probably show rude hand gestures to the little construct. It can be played without VR, but switching out hand gestures for using a mouse to select from a list of gestures just sounds a lot less exciting and natural.

Cyan is using Kickstarter to raise the money to complete Firmament and has used the crowdfunding platform successfully before. They want to raise some $1.28 million and hope to have the game finished by July 2020.

Now to wait until then to puzzle through things and possibly swear at the cute little construct that doesn’t do what you want it to. No not that lever!

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
