Back in February, we got an unexpected Nintendo Direct. And while the big announcements were obviously a new Super Mario Maker and the surprise The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake, there were a few other interesting titles. One of the big names among them was BOXBOY! + BOXGIRL!. Switch owners that never had one of the consoles in the 3DS handheld line may not recognise the name. But, this is actually the fourth in the series after BoxBoy!, BoxBoxBoy! and Bye-Bye BoxBoy! – all on the 3DS.
The simple-looking puzzle platformer may not seem like much. But don’t let the simple design fool you. Anyone that has tried any of the games will likely tell you that they’re fantastic fun, devilishly clever and definitely worth a go. And it makes sense too, given that the series is developed by the legendary HAL Laboratory – of Kirby fame. So has that got you interested? As you can now probably tell, this will be a perfect fit on the Switch particularly in handheld mode. So be sure to join Qbby, Qucy and the gang later this month. It releases on the 26th of April.
