Let’s just take a moment to appreciate that title, it’s so pure and I’ll probably only be able to do it once. It’s been another lovely April week that was thankfully a lot more chilled out than last week. We also discovered some cool stuff like that picture of the black hole, that was super dope. But, let’s jump into what happened this week and of course, the winner.
Weekly wrap up!
This week was really chill, to be honest. In terms of big stories, you can now finally change your PSN tag after all these years. Sony finally woke up with their terrible username code. I just want to also say, Game Pass is getting crazy. It was novel the first few months, but now it’s genuine value for money. It also seems you people loved the weird PS4 controller prototypes. Those were whacky.
For reviews we had Ash taking a blast into the past, but not too back to be a classic game review. He reviewed Borderlands Remastered. The actual blast from the past was Super Mario Galaxy 2. By the way, nobody
Also, the Burning Question was a lot of fun with Tim asking which game you hated that critics adored. He did personally insult our friendship, but the comment section was a good time.
Comment of the week!
Our comment of the week comes from Garth’s lovely list of things in older games that we’re grateful were left behind. Go give that a read, it’s great. But the comment comes to us from Scribbly G:
I have never seen the movie, but I assume it was great and the game also is. Here’s the winner of LEGO The Movie 2 The Videogame! The lucky so and so is none other than:
Congratulations to Brendan for winning this week’s prize! We’ll be in contact with you soon to get your prize to you. Enjoy being awesome!
Thanks to Gamefinity for sponsoring this week’s prize!
What’s happening this weekend?
If you’re ever wondering what the SA Gamer crew does on weekends, don’t wonder anymore! Here’s a little breakdown of how we’ll be spending our weekends:
Dawid: Golf (I only watch the Masters annually), Rugby and F1 – that’s what this weekend will consist of for me. Don’t think there will be much gaming in my life other than our F1 race tonight. If there is some time it’ll be Red Dead Redemption 2. [SPOOOOOOOOOOORTS…. and cowboys.]
Garth: I have a pretty roleplaying heavy weekend, with Pathfinder and Lancer sessions planned. But when I am alone at home I will be industrialising everything in Anno 1800. Those uninhabited islands aren’t going to fill themselves! [I sincerely hope it’s just the Pathfinder and Lancer sessions and not some other roleplaying thing.]
Charlie: As mentioned last week, I’m in the process of moving, so that’s my exciting story fie the weekend. Thankfully most of the moving is done, and I WILL make a plan toe braai something tomorrow, or it just ain’t no weekend. The PS4, TV and the internet
Tim: I’m unfortunately down (cough) with the flu so this weekend I suspect will entail (sneeze) a lot of sleeping, vitamin C, football and more sleeping. If I do manage to get on any of my consoles (combo cough sneeze) I suspect Starlink will still be highest on the list. [He’s just pretending to be sick so that I can pity him and not bring up that he thinks Stardew Valley is a bad game. I’m kidding, I still love him, even if his opinions are wrong.]
Ash: You best believe I’m playing Borderlands this weekend. All day, err day. I’ve done most of the DLC and going on my third playthrough. Then it’s on to Borderlands 2 and I’ll be wearing my Borderlands onesie drinking from my Borderlands coffee mug while listening to the Borderlands soundtrack on Spotify, and Borderlands Borderlands… [Garth said:
“I promise I did not type the above as a parody of Ash.” Ash replied with: ”
I concur that Garth did not type that at all” Yeah. See what I have to deal with?]
Zain: I’ll be raising my gear score in
Marko: As I was typing this article I got a very juicy code given to me for a review game that I am for sure not allowed to talk about, but that is definitely what I’ll be doing this weekend. I also need to clean the flat again, my lord
Hell yeah brother, we made it through another week. We got to see the secrets of the universe, there’s sport going on and the games haven’t stopped being fun. We’ll see you again next week for some fun times and good vibes, don’t miss out.
Free Games Vrydag returns next week! Tune your radios to find out what.
