Hack and slash adventure game Ninja Gaiden II gets enhanced on Xbox One

Ninja Gaiden II will be Xbox One X enhanced as announced during the Inside Xbox stream. The game was added to the backwards compatibility list and will run at higher resolutions that its predecessor on Xbox 360.

Ryu Hayabusa and his legendary ninja skills joins the list of other titles being added to the backward compatibility service such as the Splinter Cell triple threat; Splinter Cell Blacklist, Splinter Cell Conviction, Splinter Cell Double Agent, along with Fable 2 and 3.

If you don’t know much about the Ninja Gaiden series, the creator Tomonobu Itagaki, who subsequently left the company before the game’s release, pinned this as his last stab at the series and it’s become a sore subject for him ever since. There were lawsuits regarding withheld bonuses and so forth, so even though the game was something of a cult classic, it didn’t make the broken relationship any more palatable.

PlayStation 3 got a Sigma re-release and replaced a lot of the game’s gore and bloodspray with a purple mist. Takes away the whole experience of what a Ninja Gaiden game is all about, to be honest.

I Game, I Design, I wish I could Game Design.
