Anthem just got a new stronghold, but the roadmap is put on pause

Anthem’s latest update, version 1.1.0 introduces a new stronghold called the Sunken Cell, along with a number of fixes and improvements to the game. Two of the biggest changes includes being able to access your inventory during play, instead of being limited to Fort Tarsis only. The other change is launching a new mission from the end of expedition screen, rather than loading back into Fort Tarsis or the Launch Bay before heading back out again.

There are a few new Universal Masterwork Components, buffs to many of the masterwork weapons, masterwork gear items and changed the way that projectiles interact with Javelins in your squad, so that your attacks can’t be blocked by your friends running or jumping in the path of your big attack.

While those changes bring some much-needed quality of life changes and some new content to bash through, BioWare also has some bad news regarding the planned roadmap for the game. The planned content is being delayed with no indication of how long the delay will be. BioWare posted about the delay on Reddit.

“We have heard a lot of feedback from all of you, and we have been working diligently to improve as many things as we can in the short term. We’ve fixed a lot of bugs and made changes which we believe begin to point us in the right direction for the future. That being said, we know there is a long way to go before Anthem becomes the game we all want it to be.”

This means guild support, leaderboards, a Mastery system, Cataclysm group activities and many more are much further away than most players hoped.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
