This year’s E3 promises to be an interesting one. As we all know by now, Sony will not be at the show. This will be the first time in a quarter of a century that the gaming giant will not be attending the event and that alone makes this E3 rather unique. Then, a short time after Sony’s announcement, EA also confirmed that they would not be having a traditional press conference. Despite both Nintendo and Microsoft confirming their presence – the lineup was looking a little thin. Happily, after Bethesda and Ubisoft’s confirmation, Square Enix has now also joined the party announcing their live broadcast details.
It’ll be interesting to see what the Japanese video game developer has up their sleeve for this year’s presentation, particularly after the success of Kingdom Hearts III. That being said I’ve got to be honest and admit that this year’s E3 is all about Microsoft. What will their new console generation look like? When will the launch be? This is the information that will make or break E3 2019. Sure it’s great that Nintendo, Bethesda and Square Enix will be there but, in my eyes, this E3 is Microsoft’s to lose.
