Duos mode in Battlefield 5’s Firestorm gets disabled due to lack of interest

Community interest is a fickle thing, EA and DICE are learning as they jump through hoops to find little to gain with Battlefield 5’s battle royale mode.

Firestorm, the Battlefield version of battle royale, recently activated Duos mode again after the community requested its return. It has since been deactivated due to a lack of interest.

“When Duo was first removed, you told us that you wanted to see it come back and we were happy to support. Since then, we’ve seen more folks jump back into Squads mode, with less preferring to Firestorm it up in Duo – so we’re going to get back to the original plan today and we’ve disabled its matchmaking,” said EA community manager, Adam Freeman.

Duos was initially introduced as limited time offerings, similar to how Grind and Rush were introduced. With community desire not translating into actual numbers, it looks like Duos will never come back as a permanent option, but may return as a limited time mode.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
