No Need for Speed reveal around E3, but confirmed for 2019 launch

If there is one thing as sure as the fact that the sun will rise tomorrow, it’s that there will always be a Need for Speed sequel somewhere in your future. Need for Speed started off on the Panasonic 3DO back in 1994 and when the new game launches this year it’ll be the 26th installment.

Not much is known about the next game in the series, other than the fact that you’ll be driving cars at breakneck speeds. The Need for Speed team has just dropped more information for the upcoming game, but it’s merely just a heads-up that you won’t be hearing anything about their new title while E3 is on a roll. In fact, don’t expect to hear a single thing about the game in June.

They did confirm that the game will be launching in 2019 and that they’ll share more information with us all when the time is right.

Are you going to hear more about the next NFS title? Yes. Is it being released this year? Yes. Will we be doing anything in June? No. It’s as simple as that, but we wanted to give you a heads up before you started asking “where are you?” Our goal is to deliver a truly memorable high-speed entry into the 25 years of NFS, rather than a series of promotional events. The game matters most – a sentiment we bet you share with us.

Other than that new funky logo in the header image, that is what we all know for now. Some people want them to return to the Hot Pursuit days, others want the Underground games to return and some want Most Wanted back. They surely can’t please everyone, but we think they’ll try.

Married to a gamer and she kicks my ass at most shooters. If the game is enjoyable I'll play it, no matter the format.
