Torchlight 2 is finally heading to consoles

It feels like forever ago that Torchlight 2 hit PC in 2012 and finally, after seven years, the game is making the jump and heading over to consoles. Porting studio Panic Button is bringing the hack-and-slash to Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 3.

Torchlight 2 was developed by Runic Games, which was closed in 2017 by parent company Perfect World. Torchlight 1 and 2 were a colourful spin on Diablo’s dungeon crawling, using steampunk and cute pets to draw you into a web of levelling and looting.

Perfect World Entertainment says that the console edition has enhanced controls, an improved targeting system, a console-specific interface, achievements and trophies and brand-new pets (Pets are really important, just watch the below trailer).

The game can be played multiplayer and Switch owners can play up to four players on a local wireless connection. You know, for people who leave the house and don’t just have friends on the other end of a voice chat program.

If it has the letters RPG in it, I am there. Still battling with balancing trying to play every single game that grabs my interest, getting 100% in a JRPG, and devoting time to my second home in Azeroth.
