Whenever we report on a PS Plus line-up for the month we do so knowing that the two games will definitely show up the following month, hence we spread the word. Sony can’t ever please everyone as it’s either games people love, hate or have already purchased, but PES 2019 really got the players boiling.
Some were really happy with the selection, but most users were extremely upset. You either love or hate football games and before we know it Sony suddenly did a 180 and now we have Detroit Become Human that replaced it and is available to download as we type this. People have since shown their satisfaction with this change and in turn, saved face with most of their user-base.
We now know that it definitely was Sony that changed things up. A Konami spokesman said this in a short statement to Gamespot:
This decision was made by Sony and so please make an inquiry to Sony.
Konami had no clue about this change. Sony already mentioned that ‘We have decided to make a change to the PS Plus games lineup this month, and will be offering Detroit: Become Human Digital Deluxe Edition instead of PES 2019. This was a decision we decided to make as a company, and we apologize for any inconvenience.’
It seems the upset members were far too overwhelming and they crumbled under the pressure. It’s the first time we’ve seen a change of this magnitude, but perhaps they’ll also decide more carefully on future titles, now that it’s dropped from six to two games per month for the same amount of money.
