A big part of playing Borderlands is doing so with friends. But sometimes your friends are busy, or go to bed before you do, or something else comes up and you can’t play together as much as you wish you could. Borderlands 3 is going to make it a lot easier for you to share with your friends, and maybe give them something fun to kill or kill with when they log on.
Borderlands 3 is getting a whole bunch of improvements for multiplayer, one of which is asynchronous elements. Find an item that you know a friend will really appreciate? Mail it off to them, so when they log on there is a nice present waiting for them. You can even check their inventory and skill trees to see if it really is something they might want or need. Even if you forget to send items off, or perhaps feel strapped for cash, the items you sell might end up in the vending machines of your friend’s game, and vice versa. If you kill a rare enemy, they will be able to visit Sanctuary’s bounty board and get a mission to kill the same rare.
Besides that, Borderlands 3 is going to have a ping system very similar to what Apex Legends has. This will make marking loot, weapons, enemies and the like a lot easier, leaving you with the option of not using comms at all, or using comms to chat with your friends instead of trying to describe where a new sniper rifle is.
